Prerna Shetty is a Heritage Consultant based in Pune, Maharashtra and co-founder of Studio Gestalt, a design & heritage consultancy. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Sinhgad College of Architecture, Pune; and consequently went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Urban Conservation from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture, Mumbai. After gaining some work experience, she did a course on Wall painting conservation from the Leon Levy Foundation’s Centre for Conservation Studies at Nagaur. The latter was a fully paid scholarship.
Her work experience has been in varied fields and covers teaching, writing/ publication, design and conservation. She worked at CRCI, New Delhi for her Bachelor’s internship. Her first job as a working professional was as a Research Assistant for the publication ‘Brinda Somaya: Works & Continuities’ for the HECAR foundation, Mumbai. She moved to Pune thereafter and founded the partnership firm, Studio Gestalt. She also worked at P. V. P. College of Architecture, Pune as an Assistant Professor for more than four years. She has also contributed to an online magazine by Asian Paints known as Colour Quotient.
Currently, she works as a Heritage consultant at Studio Gestalt which deals with built, crafted and intangible heritage. During her non-working hours, she enjoys reading, exploring new passions and creating fictional universes with her daughter.
