This Thalassemia Centre was one of the very first Thalassemia Day care units in the country. A room that is occupied by many children living with this dreaded genetic disorder in order to get blood transfusions on a regular basis. Despite most of them being used to this routine, blood transfusions can be boring and dreary. We have attempted to bring some life into the room while respecting its Gothic proportions. The St. George’s hospital is a listed heritage structure & it was an honour to be working in such an old institution that too for aiding the Thalassemic and facilitating a brighter treatment facility. We also collaborated with Chacko to design comfortable and beautiful recliners for this facility.
