In the previous century owning or collecting art and artefacts was a time-consuming and costly affair. As a result only families of nobility or aristocracy could create and maintain art collections. With time, such collections have become rare and valuable. This is one such collection put together by the illustrious Raja Rairayan Bahadur Amantvant family in the previous century. This collection was housed in the private museum of the family along with marble statuary, rare coins, etc at the Rairayan Deodi and Rajwant Niwas in Hyderabad. The ‘Deccani Painting’ of Nizam Mehboob Ali Khan, his son Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan and Paigah noble is from this collection. Studio Gestalt documented, carried out valuation, conservation and sale of this painting along with Niteeka Archival Research Infotech Pvt. Ltd. as a consultant. Additionally we also carried out the registration of this antiquity with ASI, Bhopal Circle.
